Open Studies is a temporary designation assigned to students who are permitted to take regular university credit courses and have not been granted formal admission to a particular program.
Open Studies students generally belong to one of the following groups:
- High School Students (Dual Credit)
- Alliance History & Thought Students (C&MA Accreditation)
- School Teachers/Administrators (Extended Learning)
- Chaplaincy Students (Clinical Pastoral Education, in partnership with Alberta Health Services)
- Foundations in Ministry Certificate Students
- Undergraduate Students (including Visiting Students)
- Seminary Students (including Visiting Students)
The Open Studies Application Fee is $100.
Please Note:
Open Studies students may be required to provide proof that they have met the basic requirements for desired level of study, including, but not limited to: highest level of education completed, English language proficiency, and successful completion of course prerequisites.
An Open Studies student is permitted to take a maximum of 15 credit hours at the undergraduate level and 9 credit hours at the graduate level before they are required to complete the formal admissions process.
Open Studies students do not graduate.
